The year 1907, when the bookseller TEUSCH was building inside the defensive walls of Brașov (Kronstadt, Brasso) on Târgul Cailor street (the current Gheorghe Barițiu) in an authentic Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) style, the villa that today is called Residence Central Annapolis.
Mr. TEUSCH, helped by his daughters - both famous teachers in the Brașov community, but also by the greatest architect of the time, contributed to the construction and decoration of this building in the smallest details, the construction being finished in 1909.
The building has remained unchanged over time, even if it has gone through different historical moments: the first world war, the second, the period of communism.
History continues today with 24 rooms reinvented in the spirit of the old era, with the comfort of our guests in the foreground: telephone in the room, minibar, LCD TV, Wi-Fi internet, permanent reception, laundry / ironing service, safe at the reception and in rooms, conference room with a capacity of 25 seats, breakfast room.
Today, the building preserves the architectural elements of the ART NOUVEAU period and also the original decorative elements such as: the handmade oak parquet, the stoves made by hand by the biggest stove manufacturers of the time - the Schmidt brothers, who inscribed their logo on every stove (bruder Schmidt/ testverek Schmidt), the mosaic in the bathrooms and in the corridors of the building, the doors made of fir, the chandeliers or lamps used by the Teusch family, the furniture or interior decoration items that belonged to this famous family from Brașov.
On the facade of the building you can see the authentic Art Nouveau elements such as the decorations in the shape of a shell, lotus, the grills presenting birds and also the 4 busts of members of the Teusch family.
In the hall at the entrance to the building, you can see passages from the history of Brașov from the Art Noveau (Jugendstil) period, which confirm the authenticity and uniqueness of this building.
