Location and Accessibility
Padiș is located in the heart of the Bihor Mountains, part of the Apuseni Mountains in Transylvania, Romania. The plateau is approximately 110 km east of Oradea, reachable by car in around 2 hours, usually passing through Beiuș. The winding mountain roads offer spectacular scenic views, making the journey an adventure in itself. The area is famous for its unique karst formations and crystal-clear water systems.
Climate and Weather
The Padiș Plateau has a cool mountain climate:
• Summer: 15–25 °C during the day, 5–10 °C at night
• Winter: frequently below -10 °C, with abundant snowfall
• Spring/Autumn: variable weather; layered clothing is recommended, as sunshine can quickly turn into rain or fog
The clean air and panoramic landscapes make it an ideal destination for hiking, photography, and relaxation.

Ponor-rév (Cetățile Ponorului)
• One of the largest karst formations in Europe
• Consists of three massive sinkholes with cliffs 100–200 m high
