Location

Cabana Scărița is located in the Apuseni Mountains, in the heart of the Padiș tourist area, within the territory of Pietroasa commune (Vasaskőfalva), Bihor County. Nestled at an altitude of 1,200 meters, in the scenic Șaua Scărița (Scărița Saddle), the cabin lies in a tranquil clearing called Băl Meadow. Its central position makes it an excellent starting point for exploring the most iconic hiking routes in Padiș—such as Cetățile Ponorului, Galbena Gorge, and Groapa Ruginoasă.

Accommodation

The cabin accommodates up to 18 guests in 5 rooms, each with a private bathroom. The layout includes four quad rooms and one double room. The building was fully renovated in 2012, providing a comfortable and cozy retreat with central heating via radiators in every room and reliable electricity supply throughout the house.

Dining

Cabana Scărița features a heated and enclosed L-shaped terrace (3×6 m and 3×3 m), with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a spacious entry zone perfect for shared meals and social moments.
Guests enjoy full self-catering facilities, allowing them to prepare and serve meals comfortably in a warm, inviting setting.

Important: The running water inside the house is not drinkable, so guests must bring their own supply of drinking water for the duration of their stay.

The large garden and yard provide an ideal setting for outdoor activities such as barbecue, cauldron cooking, rustic oven baking, or campfires.
A secure parking area is available directly in front of the cabin. Thanks to its prime location, guests can begin hikes directly from the cabin grounds to breathtaking natural landmarks like Lost World, Cetățile Ponorului, and the Galbena Gorge.
