General Overview
Borsec (Hungarian: Borszék) is one of the most well-known mountain resorts in Harghita County, located in a spectacular natural setting in the Eastern Carpathians, at the meeting point of the Călimani Mountains and the Gurghiu Mountains. The resort lies at an altitude between 850 and 1000 meters above sea level and is famous for its therapeutic mineral springs and exceptionally clean mountain air.
Borsec has been known as a spa resort since the 18th century, and it is often referred to as the “Queen of Mineral Waters.” The mineral water from Borsec has gained international recognition for its quality and beneficial properties.
The surrounding mountainous landscape, dense coniferous forests, and numerous mineral springs create an ideal environment for relaxation, wellness tourism, and outdoor activities throughout the year.
