Cristuru Secuiesc is located in the western part of Harghita County, along the Târnava Mică River valley, at an altitude of approximately 390–420 meters above sea level. The town lies south of Odorheiu Secuiesc and holds a central position in southeastern Transylvania, making it an ideal base for exploring the region.

One of the town’s most important historical landmarks is the garden of the former Gyárfás Mansion, where, according to tradition, the poet Sándor Petőfi spent his last night before the Battle of Sighișoara on July 30, 1849.
